Does anyone around here perchance have knowledge of server hardware? not using PCs as servers but actual server Hardware? Trying to figure out some stuff for a friend.

Basically the question I have if anyone knows is what kind of server hardware would be needed to run 10-15 moderate sized modded minecraft servers simultaneously?

Hi, I'm Zant (which is typically my handle for most things, that or ZantGreene) coming up on, but not quite middle aged gamer extraordinaire, minus the extra  I used to be pretty heavily into MMORPGs, to the extent that I can no longer accurately count how many I've played, but I got to feeling like the genre stagnated a bit in some respects and changed in other respects in ways that didn't appeal to me (your mileage may vary, your game preferences may differ from mine and that's ok   )

Nowadays I only occasionally make forays into MMOs, and usually briefly, most recently a couple month return to FFXI.  I mostly play modded Minecraft now, and have recently gotten into making my own packs.

I'm almost exclusively a PC gamer anymore, but mostly only because nothing has caught my eye on PS3 for a while and it's the only console I have.

I'm not usually an easy mode player (and no, I don't disparage those who are, play what makes you happy) but I'm almost never a hard mode player, not because there's anything wrong with it, but because as I get older my slowing reflexes and numerous hand injuries have made hard mode not very fun for me.

So that's my word vomit of an introduction. Hi!

When it comes to games, I appreciate many styles and many methods of play. My specialties, however, lie in Minecraft on the PC, as well as action RPGs on PC and consoles. I'm decently educated on fighting games as well, but an enthusiast at best.

My Minecraft username is simonlnu, first Name is Eric. I'm in my 40s, and I'm the sort of dude that likes to play easy mode, and often in Peaceful. Getting mob drops in peaceful has its own challenges,  hehe. I also like GuildWars2 a lot as well.

I'm easy going, and I have a fiancée. We're Native American, and follow our ways as much as possible.

Hi all. I've got a question or two that I am hoping someone can help me with. I've installed the Curse Launcher in anticipation of VC4 but it looks like it wants to reinstall Minecraft, even though I already have it installed. I've searched for how to have it scan for games and find it but I cannot find a way to tell the client to scan my computer. Everything says it go to the Tool menu but I can't even find that. All the instructions seem to be for the previous version of the client.

Any thoughts or help anyone can give?

I just joined I have been following Vaygrim and Preacher for a while. I found them thru Direwolf20's YouTube page with the coop. I have play D&D (old school) WoW, Orgen Trail, Pong. I currently play minecraft, subnatica,  7 Days to die (Both due to Vaygrim). 

I am 44, US army vet, Father and average gamer. definitely not afraid of novice level. I am semi-taught aspiring programmer working on learning Java to Mod.

I've been watching Morvelaira (If you don't know who Morvy is, ask Vaygrim) post pictures on Twitter of carpet designs she's been making with nothing but Chisels and Bits. This has given me an idea. Create a small modpack with only Chisels and Bits, Flat Colored Blocks, and Chisel on the Curse launcher. Then, go into a creative world and make a carpet or rug design using ONLY Chisels and bits to create the pattern of the carpet. Size wise, it must be at the most, a 5 block by 5 block design, and images must be uploaded to Imgur to make judging easier. Only one rug per entrant, please. 

RULES
1. All designs must be a 5 block by 5 block area at the MOST
2. All designs must only use Chisels and Bits, Flat colored blocks, and Chisel.
3. All custom packs created for this must be in 1.9.4
4. All entries must have their screenshots uploaded to Imgur and linked in this thread.
5. All entries must be completed by August 1st to be eligible for voting.
6. Voting will start August 2nd, and finish August 3rd.
